Dear Friend,
Governor Eric Holcomb is urging Hoosiers to cancel Thanksgiving traditions and entertain a virtual gathering this year.
One tradition that’s not changing at the Indiana Statehouse is the Establishment’s annual plot to get rid of Rep. Curt Nisly, the most pro-life legislator in Indianapolis.
Yet again, the Political Class is seeking to silence Rep. Nisly.
For five years in a row, Rep. Nisly authored the Protection of Life bill, which would end abortion in Indiana. He has pledged to author this life saving legislation yet again in 2021.
For five years, ex-House Speaker Brian Bosma sided with Planned Parenthood and worked together with Rep. Ben Smaltz of the Public Policy Committee to ensure the abortion ban was killed in committee.
However, this didn’t sit well with pro-life Hoosiers.
Last year, Hoosiers for Life delivered 40,000 petitions to the Indiana Statehouse in support of our Protection of Life bill.
Despite pressure from constituents, Bosma and Smaltz killed the bill anyway.
With the legislature’s five-year record of refusing to end abortion, folks across Indiana decided they’d had enough.
During the Primary Election of 2020, I asked you to lobby candidates on behalf of our unborn neighbors, and tons of pro-life Hoosiers rose to the occasion.
And now Establishment politicians are wringing their hands with worry because the Life Bill has gained so much support.
J.D. Prescott (HD 33), Dan Leonard (HD 50), Brad Barrett (HD 56), Ryan Lauer (HD 59) Zach Payne (HD 66), Cindy Ledbetter (HD 75), Chris Jeter (HD 88), and John Jacob (HD 93), won their races and have pledged to co-author the Protection of Life bill in 2021.
The new House Speaker, Todd Huston, was hand picked by Brian Bosma, and sources say Huston wants nothing to do with abortion bans, just like his predecessor.
With so many Representatives pledging support for the Protection of Life bill, the Establishment is hatching a plan to ensure it dies for a sixth time.
According to insiders, House Speaker Todd Huston may be planning to kick Rep. Nisly out of the House Caucus.
This will keep important information from Nisly, position him as a “non-team player,” and it will send a message to any Representative who may be considering supporting Protection of Life.
Huston hopes to silence Nisly and send a message to other legislators: do as I say, or else.
Furthermore, Huston reportedly will be instructing his appointed leaders to refuse to hear any of Nisly’s bills, including Protection of Life, if Huston doesn’t kill them himself.
Again, this will be a warning to likely Protection of Life supporters. The Political Class hopes legislators will fear their own bills will be killed too, if they support Nisly.
I sure hope the legislators who have pledged to co-author the bill to end abortion in Indiana do not fear Huston’s threats and cave to his bullying.
This kind of leadership is NOT what Hoosiers expect from their Representatives.
We expect our Representatives to do their jobs and end abortion in Indiana.
If Huston succeeds in killing the bill yet again, another 8,000 Hoosier babies will die in 2021.
We can’t let that happen without a fight!
And I do plan to fight.
There are a few ways you can help.
First, call House Speaker Todd Huston and tell him not to bully other legislators or kill pro-life bills in 2021.
Second, contact the legislators who pledged to co-author the Protection of Life bill and thank them.
Urge them to continue their support of this life saving legislation and to follow through with co-authoring the bill, just as they promised to do.
J.D. Prescott: 317-234-3827
Dan Leonard: 317-234-9450
Brad Barrett: 317-232-9643
Ryan Lauer: 317-232-9657
Zach Payne: 317-234-9028
Cindy Ledbetter: 317-232-9833
Chris Jeter: 317-234-3827
John Jacob: 317-232-9769
Then, contact Rep. Curt Nisly and thank him for standing strong for the pre-born.
Finally, would you consider donating in any amount to help Hoosiers for Life educate pro-lifers across the state about our Protection of Life bill?
It’s been six years since I sat down and designed the Protection of Life bill--six years since Rep. Nisly agreed to champion our abortion ban. And it’s because of supporters like you that we’re still pressing forward and insisting on an end to legalized child killing in our state.
Our goal is to reach 5,000 new supporters by the end of the year.
After all, the more who speak up, the louder our voices will be at the Indiana Statehouse. So, any amount, even just $10 or $5 will help!
I truly appreciate all of your support.
The battle for the pre-born isn’t easy, but with babies’ lives at stake, it’s one worth fighting.
For Life,
Amy Schlichter

P.S. With so many legislators pledging to support the Protection of Life bill, which would end abortion in Indiana, the Political Class is fretting.
House Speaker Todd Huston, hand picked by Brian Bosma, is planning to silence Rep. Curt Nisly, kill Protection of Life, and send a message to anyone who may support ending abortion in our state.
You can help by contacting those who pledged to co-author Protection of Life legislation and urging them to follow through with their pro-life stance. Their numbers are listed above.
Also, let Speaker Todd Huston know he shouldn’t kill any pro-life bills or bully others to do the same.
Finally, please consider giving a few dollars to help Hoosiers for Life spread the word about the Protection of Life bill this year.
Paid for by the supporters of Hoosiers for Life, a tax exempt non-profit organization under IRC 501(c)(4) which does not endorse, support, or oppose candidates for election.
