I recently let you know Indiana’s Republican House Speaker, Brian Bosma, REFUSES to move a bill to end abortion in our state.
Let me tell you why this is fishy.
Whether the bill lives or dies isn’t supposed to be Bosma’s call anymore.
You see, Rep. Curt Nisly filed the Protection at Conception bill, HB 1430, for the third year in a row. And, for the third year in a row, Bosma planted it in the Public Policy committee with covert instructions to his hand picked committee chair, Rep. Ben Smaltz.
Smaltz has been commanded to make sure the Protection at Conception bill dies in committee, without a hearing or a vote.
And so far, he is following orders.
Bosma insists he isn’t pulling strings behind the scenes, but the House Speaker is quick to definitively report Rep. Nisly’s bill will NOT be heard.
He even thinks it’s funny.

In case you couldn’t listen to the audio*, a reporter asks Bosma if Nisly’s bill will be moving through the legislative process, and Bosma gets quite a good chuckle out of the idea of saving every last baby from abortion.
Apparently, banning abortion outright is a joke to the House Speaker.
The reporters get a nice laugh too.
Bosma may chortle at the idea of ending the wicked practice of legalized child killing, but do you know who isn’t laughing?
The 8,000 babies ripped from their mothers’ wombs last year.
And the 8,000 babies who will die at the hand of Indiana abortionists this year—they won’t be laughing either.
For 46 years, we have been waiting for our “pro-life” legislators to end the slaughter of our pre-born neighbors. The killing has gone on long enough. It is time to DEMAND an end to abortion once and for all, and Hoosiers for Life is doing just that.
We are calling on our elected officials to do their jobs and uphold an unborn child’s God-given right to live.
The Protection at Conception bill would treat pre-born boys and girls like any other living individual, and instead of encouraging discussion on this life saving legislation, Rep. Brian Bosma is laughing at the idea of protecting every baby from the horror of abortion.
What goes on behind the closed doors of Planned Parenthood is no joke—tiny boys and girls are torn apart limb from limb and dumped into medical waste containers. And our elected officials are failing to protect them, despite making pro-life promises on the campaign trail.
We need a fair hearing and a roll call vote on HB 1430. That way, we can see which legislators are serious about ending abortion and which are just pretending to care.
Time is running out for Hoosier babies this year.
That’s why I need your help to speak up for them, before it’s too late.
Sign your Protection of Life Petition letting our elected officials know you support ending abortion in Indiana and forward the petition to all of your friends who will sign too.
Then, call Rep. Brian Bosma at 317-232-9677 and remind him killing unborn babies is no laughing matter. Tell him to show some civility toward his pre-born neighbors and protect them from abortion.
While you’re at it, call Rep. Ben Smaltz too and insist he stop obeying orders to kill pro-life bills.
Tell him you’d like a hearing and a vote on HB 1430.

The House Speaker and Rep. Ben Smaltz hate it when I let you know what’s really going on at the Indiana Statehouse. But you deserve to know the truth, and the truth is, these two “pro-life” Republicans are blocking pro-life bills and refusing to save babies. They are listening to Planned Parenthood and ignoring the folks who put them in office.
When I report these antics to you, misbehaving politicians fly into a rage. But, I’m not in this to make friends with the political class. I’m here to save babies, and when our elected officials refuse to do that, I will hold their feet to the fire.
