House Speaker Brian Bosma has declared himself to be the “most pro-life speaker in 40 years.”
Despite what he likes to call himself, Bosma has a bad track record when it comes to ending abortion in Indiana.
In fact, Bosma advises against it, stating instead “You guys ought to be focusing on the stuff that is really important.”
For three years in a row, pro-life champion Rep. Curt Nisly authored the Protection at Conception bill, which would effectively end abortion in Indiana. And for three years in a row, Bosma hatched a secret plot to kill the bill.
Every year, Bosma follows the same pattern.
He plants the bill into Rep. Ben Smaltz’s Public Policy committee with strict instructions—bury the bill, and make sure it dies.
Of course, he doesn’t want you to know that.
But, pro-life Hoosiers deserve to know what’s really going on at the Indiana Statehouse, and the truth is for the last three years, Bosma has been the mastermind behind a plot to kill pro-life bills.
Just last week, the Journal Gazette reported Bosma refuses to move the Protection at Conception bill.*
My friends, behavior like this from “pro-life” politicians is unacceptable.
Brian Bosma needs to hear from you TODAY.
And, Rep. Ben Smaltz should be listening to his constituents instead of obeying orders to kill pro-life bills, so Smaltz needs to hear from you too.
Call Rep. Bosma at 317-232-9677. Tell him to show some civility toward Hoosier babies and to quit blocking pro-life bills.
Then, call Ben Smaltz at 317-232-9657. Demand a hearing and a vote on HB 1430, the Protection at Conception bill.
Bosma and Smaltz can claim to be pro-life all they want, but babies are still dying, and they refuse to stop the killing.
Your pre-born neighbor cannot speak for herself, and so please call today and demand a fair hearing and a roll call vote on HB 1430. Even if you’ve called before, please call again.

P.S. Although he refuses to admit it, House Speaker Brian Bosma controls Rep. Ben Smaltz and orders him to kill pro-life bills. Just last week, the Journal Gazette reported Bosma refuses to move Rep. Curt Nisly’s Protection at Conception bill, HB 1430, a bill which would end abortion in Indiana.
