After months of bad news for District 52, learning their “pro-life” legislator had zero intention of ending abortion, I have some exciting news for our friends in the northern Indiana House district.
Hoosiers for Life recently surveyed William Carlin, challenger to Rep. Ben Smaltz, and I am pleased to announce Carlin has filled out the pro-life survey to our satisfaction.
Ben Smaltz, on the other hand, believes murdering pre-born children is a constitutional right.
Smaltz has adamantly refused to hear Rep. Curt Nisly’s Protection at Conception bill, dooming nearly 16,000 pre-born babies in the two years he stonewalled the bill.
Smaltz publicly stated the Protection at Conception bill would end abortion in Indiana, noting it would hold people accountable for killing unborn children. He also acknowledged the existence of the non-severability clause other Reps have insisted isn’t in the bill.
Yet, Ben obeyed the Speaker’s orders to kill the bill, refusing to hold a civil conversation about the strongest piece of life legislation ever to be filed in Indiana.
The true pro-life community, those of us who expect to see an end to abortion immediately, knows the right to murder your own child is not in the constitution. We demand our legislators do their jobs and protect all innocent unborn babies at the moment of conception.
We shouldn’t have to tell Ben saving babies is the right thing to do. A guy who wants to end abortion already knows it is. He can’t be chicken winged into killing a bill that would save all babies from abortion.
We will keep you informed on these important developments along with the results of Rep. Smaltz’ survey.
If you haven’t yet signed your petition to let Indiana leadership know you want to protect all babies at the moment of conception, please sign it today. After all, legislators need reminded all year of their responsibility to protect the innocent.
