Doomsday for Hoosier Babies

Dear Friend,

Tomorrow is doomsday for Hoosier babies.

Today is their last chance.

“Pro-life” Rep. Ben Smaltz is holding fast to his stance of keeping abortion safe and legal, just like Planned Parenthood.

Smaltz told the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette he would not hear the Protection at Conception bill because it should be legal to murder rape conceived children.

Furthermore, he believes ending abortion would be “catastrophic to the cause.”

Ending abortion most certainly would be catastrophic to Planned Parenthood’s cause, but to the pro-life community in Indiana, a collapse of the abortion industry would mean ultimate success.

Through his refusal to even have a conversation on a bill to end abortion in Indiana, Ben Smaltz has been clear: he does not want to protect all babies at conception.

Smaltz believes now is not the time to end the murder of innocent pre-born babies.

If not now, then when is a better time to stop the legalized killing of children?

How long will “pro-life” Republicans allow innocent babies to die on their watch?!

45 years is long enough, don’t you think?

Not according to Indiana House Republicans. They are on the 1,000 year plan to end abortion.

I have a reminder for this group of legislators who have been so concerned with “civility” this legislative session: baby killing is not civil.

Indiana lawmakers have a responsibility to protect the innocent and a duty to uphold the Indiana constitution, which acknowledges an individual’s right to live.

Folks, if “pro-life” Republican, Rep. Ben Smaltz, refuses yet again today to hear HB 1097, the Protection at Conception bill will die, dooming nearly 8,000 pre-born babies to death by abortion.

This is our last chance.

Smaltz and the rest of the Public Policy committee need to hear from you RIGHT NOW.

Call the entire Public Policy Committee and demand they make room in their schedule to save babies before it is too late. Tell them you want a hearing and a vote on HB 1097.

Here are their numbers:

Committee Chair, Ben Smaltz: 317-232-9850

Committee Vice Chair, Timothy Wesco: 317-232-9753

Rep. Ed Clere: 317-232-9620

Rep. Sean Eberhart: 317-232-9793

Rep. Todd Huston: 317-232-9850

Rep. Jim Lucas: 317-234-9499

Rep. Matt Lehman: 317-232-9769

Rep. Peggy Mayfield: 317-234-9450

I’m not giving up on Hoosier babies, and I know you won’t either. That’s why I’m counting on you to call Ben Smaltz and the rest of the Public Policy Committee right away.

For LIFE,

Amy Schlichter

Executive Director

P.S. Today is the last day for “pro-life” Republican, Rep. Ben Smaltz, to grant a hearing and a vote on Curt Nisly’s Protection at Conception bill. If a hearing is not scheduled by tomorrow, the bill will die, dooming nearly 8,000 Hoosier babies this year alone.

Please do not delay, call Smaltz and the rest of the Public Policy Committee right away and demand a hearing and a vote on HB 1097.
