Dear Friend,
State Rep. Tim Wesco is using one sad excuse after another for refusing to support Rep. Curt Nisly’s HB 1097, the strongest anti-abortion bill in Indiana.
Rep. Wesco claims HB 1097 would hamper years of regulation, but he misses the point. Once something is illegal, you don’t regulate it.
Rep. Wesco also claims courts will tamper with the new law, painting a picture of Indiana abortion facilities ramping up murders if HB 1097 is passed, killing kids throughout all nine months of pregnancy.
What a bogus scenario! The non-severability clause, which Wesco denies is in the bill, and the jurisdiction language are there in plain sight to thwart judicial mischief.
Wesco even went so far as to call the bill to end abortion in Indiana “dangerous.” He said, “HB 1097 is the most dangerous bill to the pro-life cause in Indiana that I have ever seen.”
You know, when Rep. Wesco calls a strong anti-abortion bill like HB 1097 “dangerous,” he reminds me of some other people who think it is dangerous to outlaw abortion: the pro-abortion crowd.
Wesco said of the Protection at Conception bill, “I oppose such misguided efforts that would be detrimental to the health of women and the cause of life in Indiana.”
Likewise, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Indiana and Kentucky said about the bill, “flat out dangerous for Hoosier women and their families.”
That’s right. Rep. Tim Wesco is taking the same position on HB 1097 as Planned Parenthood and their leftist buddies.
Finally, Rep. Wesco is wringing his hands and whining how Indiana has done all it can do to stop the slaughter of unborn children. When asked what his plan is to end abortion in Indiana once and for all, Wesco admitted Republicans have no plan to end child killing in Indiana.
Rep. Wesco is telling sources, "The pro-life movement in Indiana has gone as far as it can go."
What's the truth? Is the "pro-life cause" in danger--will HB 1097 lead to a free for all when it comes to killing babies, like Wesco says?
Or is access to legal abortion in danger from a bill which would “force pregnant Hoosiers to give birth,” as claimed by Planned Parenthood and Indiana Reproductive Justice Coalition.
Both cannot be true.
The truth is HB 1097, the Protection at Conception bill, would effectively end the legalized killing of unborn children in Indiana.
Why is a so called "pro-life" Representative insisting abortion remain safe and legal, just like Planned Parenthood?
It is bad enough for the likes of Planned Parenthood to fight a bill to save babies, but it is outrageous when "pro-life" legislators make the pro-abort arguments for them.
Friends, there is still a chance to get a hearing and a vote on HB 1097, but time is running out for Hoosier Babies this year! Call Rep. Wesco at 317-232-9753 and tell him he should stand with unborn babies--not with Planned Parenthood.
For LIFE,
Amy Schlichter

P.S. Rep. Tim Wesco is taking the same stance against Curt Nisly’s Protection at Conception bill, HB 1097, as Planned Parenthood, calling the bill which would outlaw abortion “dangerous.” Wesco, Smaltz, and the other Public Policy Committee members could use the committee to improve upon the bill where they see weaknesses, instead of killing it.
Time is running out to get a hearing and a vote on HB 1097. Call Rep. Wesco at 317-232-9753 right away. Tell him he should stand with unborn babies and not with Planned Parenthood.
P.P.S. I hope you’ll consider chipping in $10 or $15 to help us reach more people with news about the Protection at Conception bill.
